“Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.” – James 5:14-15
We also minister to those in nursing homes through visitations and sermonettes.

Ministry Mission:
Sick and Shut-in Care Ministry exist to assist in meeting the spiritual needs of the sick and shut-in, and provide services on behalf of the Pastors and the membership of Mt. Pleasant for home and hospital visitation to the sick and shut in. Their duties include, but are not limited to, maintaining phone call follow-ups to the homebound or hospitalized members and visitations upon request of members, provide notification to the Pastor and membership of any hospitalizations, and keeping the Church updated on the condition of the sick and shut-in.
The joy in this ministry to the sick and homebound persons is to be caring towards them in the name of Jesus Christ, and to help strengthen their connection to the rest of the Body of Christ. In the fullest sense, this is a healing ministry. The Church mandates that we stay close to those who are ill, holding them in our hearts and prayers and offering them comfort.
Being a Lay Minister, Sister Ruby Smith bring “the Church” to sick and homebound people. The Ministry visit, pray and make them a big part of our Church. People who are involved in this ministry are selected because of their concern and interest in our elderly. These people follow procedures and suggestions given to them either alone or in groups.
