Our Seniors Ministry at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church are very active in serving in the Kingdom of God. They frequently serve in the many ministries, such as Hospitality, Ushers and they work with our children. We love them dearly.
This is a special ministry for the senior adults of our church, the ones who remember the good old days and the not-so-good old days. Our implementation plans for the seniors include future functions to include loads of fun, food, fellowship, and bushels of good humor. We have future plans and activities such as: Bible class, Bible quizzes, games, lunch trips, movies, field trips, guest speakers and many more. Field trips includes out of town trips.
We encourage all members, 60 and over, to become a part of this exciting group. Whether you would like to volunteer to work with the Ministry or would like to benefit from the group activities, you are welcome. Your skills, abilities and maturity are needed. You may have many more years to serve the Lord and mankind.
Isaiah 46:4; "And I will still be carrying you when you are old. Your hair will turn gray, and I will still carry you.
I made you, and I will carry you to safety".
Old age is a blessing from the Lord. We should never be afraid of aging. Christians have a responsibility to show kindness, respect, and to take care of the elderly. Yes we are to respect all people, but there is a certain type of respect that we give to the elderly unlike our own age group. There is a certain way we talk to them and give honor to them.
